SELECTUSA AT THE 2020 CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW
January 7-10, 2020
Las Vegas, Nevada

​​​​​​SelectUSA will participate in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 7-10, 2020 as a co-exhibitor with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Small Business Administration (SBA). The U.S. government pavilion at CES 2020—equipped with a stage and a table for each agency to conduct informational meetings and consultations—will provide tech companies with information and resources about U.S. government research grants, IP protection, and opportunities for expansion and retention into the United States. In addition to providing investment education and counsel for convention attendees, SelectUSA will conduct programs on the in-booth stage highlighting various subject matter experts on investment and successful foreign tech investors.

SELECT BAY AREA: INVESTOR IMMERSION PROGRAM
January 13-14, 2020
San Francisco and San Jose, California

​​​​​​SelectUSA will co-host seminars in San Francisco and San Jose, January 13-14, 2020, for global tech companies looking to expand in Silicon Valley. Specific topics will include: U.S. visa requirements, accounting and tax considerations, state and federal employment practices and regulations, financing options, information on key industries in the Bay Area, and more.
Registration for Select Bay Area, $650 per participant, includes all meetings, group transportation between and within San Francisco and San Jose, and some meals. Airfare and lodging are not included.

​​​​​​U.S. economic developers are invited to join us for the annual SelectUSA Canada Conference at the 
Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto on February 13, 2020. Designed by the U.S. Commerce Service (USCS) Toronto, the event will feature companies from the Canadian automotive and advanced manufacturing technology sectors.
U.S. EDOs will benefit from:
  • One-on-one business appointments with Canadian business investors;
  • A manufacturing roundtable with U.S. Government officials;
  • Access to the exclusive CIAS Official Opening Day event (closed to the public); and
  • Industry networking opportunities, including the CIAS Gala Reception.​​​​​​

SELECTUSA INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN JAPAN
February 26, 2020
Tokyo, Japan
SelectUSA will join several business investment experts in Tokyo for the SelectUSA Investment Conference In Japan on February 26, 2020. This will be a one-day event in three parts:
1) SelectUSA Investment Academy  (9:00 A.M.-Noon) for new Japanese investors which will cover business basics for investors and a Visa presentation by the Consular Section.  
2) The SelectUSA Investment Conference (1:00-5:45 P.M.) will commence, covering topics such as U.S. Digital Marketplace, Going Cashless, Workforce Hiring & Retention, Work Place Conduct and promotion of the SelectUSA Investment Summit which will take place June 1-3, in Washington, D.C.  
3) The SelectUSA Investment Reception (5:45-7:45 P.M.) will be held at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence to celebrate Japanese firms investing in the United States and 12 additional U.S. airline routes between Tokyo and the United States. 


Cost to U.S. EDOs: $750. EDOs will have a table-top exhibit space during the Conference and can invite two additional guests to the reception. Space is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
The Investment Academy and Investment Conference will be conducted in Japanese.  If you need language assistance, the SelectUSA Japan team can connect you with a local service provider who can assist onsite or represent you on your organization’s behalf. 

Japan is the third largest source of FDI in the United States with $488.7 billion of total FDI stock supporting 885,200 U.S. jobs, mostly in manufacturing.

SELECTUSA SPAIN ROADSHOW

Interested in FDI from Spain?  SelectUSA is organizing an investment Road Show to major Spanish business hubs, March 3-5, 2020. Four to five economic development teams will have an opportunity to participate in a half-day seminar highlighting two industry-specific sectors in each city. Confirmation will be based on a first come, first served basis.

EXECUTIVE HEALTHCARE & TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT MISSION

March 5-17, 2020
Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia

​​​​​​SelectUSA will lead a series of tours, workshops, and networking opportunities before and after the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) annual conference in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, March 5-17, 2020. The Executive Healthcare & Technology Investment Mission will begin in Orlando (March 5-6), before heading to HIMSS 2020 (March 9-13, also in Orlando). The final stop of the mission: Atlanta, March 15-17.
C-level management of foreign medical device, healthcare IT, healthcare services, and technology industries are encouraged to join SelectUSA for this multi-city mission. Participants will hear from industry experts in the healthcare and IT markets, and they’ll have the chance to tour several high-tech facilities in both Orlando and Atlanta.

Beginning January 16, the price increases to US$200. Space is limited to 15 and applications are approved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

SelectUSA Switzerland is organizing an investment seminar in Bern, Switzerland the afternoon of March 10 followed by a networking reception or dinner for Swiss investors and U.S. economic development organizations (EDOs) hosted by Ambassador Edward T. McMullen, Jr. Attendance is limited to the first six EDOs to sign-up. Priority will be given to EDOs sending a U.S.-based representative.
